Good to be Home

Well, I'm finally back home, and let me tell you, it's good to be back! What a great trip though. I met so many cool people from all over the country. One of the pictures I'm posting is of me and Mike Colon, who is an Orange County CA photographer. I just got back from his seminar a few weeks ago, and we had such a great time. He and his wife opened their home to 13 complete strangers, and we had the time of our lives! Such a great guy, and so down to earth. So it was only fitting to have a picture of us this time around.

I do have to say this trip was mostly work, and very little play. I went to many different seminars, and looked at A LOT of products. James and I were exhausted by the end of each day. The highlight of the trip was that I finally got to meet David Jay. I was like a school girl with a crush! You would've thought I met Brad Pitt or something! I have been following DJ's work for some time now, and he's really been the inspiration behind getting me to where I'm at now. I guess he's the colleague that I aspire to be like one day. He was generous enough to talk with James and I and share some stories about his struggles in the beginning of his career, and what steps he's taken to get where he's at now. He's truly an amazing guy. He was a lot taller than I pictured him too! :) Sorry DJ if you read this, but it's true! Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera with me, but one of my friends did. As soon as I get the pictures, I'll post them.

Anyways, got some great ideas and can't wait to get them going. Thanks to all the great people that I met. And I hope to catch up with you all soon!

Viva Las Vegas

Hello everyone. This week I have made the trek to Las Vegas. We are at a convention called WPPI , which I am a member of, and just started going to since last year. It's a great opportunity to see all the different vendors all in one place, but also is great for learning some new and cutting edge ideas. We'll just say it keeps me on my toes! James, my husband, came with me, to help look at the trade show, which is taking place in Paris/Bally's convention center. We decided to make things easy and stay in Paris, and somehow got a really swanky room in the deal. No complaining here. Had an opportunity to hook up with some friends that I met in California at a seminar I attended. It's been great so far. As soon as I get back, I'll put together another post with some pictures. See you all soon!

To kick this off, I decided what would be better than showing a picture of my daughter Kailee. She's now 13 months, but I swear seems much wiser than her age! Here in Chicago, it reached a record high of 73 the other day, so of course, we went out to play! All Kailee wanted to play with were the few leaves that were in the grass...she has all these toys, and she played with LEAVES! Figures. Anyways, hope you like them!
