Bellissima Chitchat

My name is Priscilla O'Sullivan, and I'm the owner of Bellissima Photography. Recently married in 2003, I decided to pursue my first love, (before my husband :) and Bellissima was born! I chose the name because it means "beautiful" in Italian. What a perfect description for those moments that mean the most. I am married to an amazing guy who is constantly reminding me of how great I am, and I have a 3 year old daughter Kailee, and just expanded our family with the addition of our son, Rylan. That's the basic scoop on me. Keep checking the posts to find out more!

Jill and Jason

Hi Everyone!

Another post, another beautiful wedding. This is Jill and Jason. Their story on how they met is right out of a story book. Well, they were both at a church bonfire at school (U of I) when Jill overheard Jason talking about how the chips he was eating tasted like Sterzings. Sterzings chips are made in Burlington, Iowa, where Jill's grandmother lives. So she was quite surprised to hear someone mention these chips! So when she turned around, there was Jason, and she asked how he knew about the chips. He also had a grandma that lived there! What a small world. And as they say, the rest is history!

So when Sterzings heard about how they met, they sent them a little gift...plenty of chips for their guests! (I was able to sneak a bag or two to take home...they were yummy!) Here is a shot they're sending to Sterzings as a thank you!

These are some other shots from the day. Okay, so the ladies had these fabulous Tiffany color dresses...who doesn't like Tiffany's! This actually has turned out
to be one of my favorite dress shots so far this year.

Here is a detailed shot of her dress that she found at Here Comes the Bride. It was like it was made just for Jill!

Here is a shot of dad's speech...no one leaves without their shoes, perfect place for it!

Jill looked stunning, love this shot!

Love the cake!

This is one of my all time favorite shots. My clients get to know what I like after their engagement session, and I always look for brick, doors, and any pops of colors. This shot has a little bit of everything!

So what you don't know is that as soon as I drove up to meet Jill that day, it started to rain. It rained on and off all day. During dinner we had a little bit of a clearing so we ran outside to grab as many shots as we could before the sun went down. We were in Geneva at Riverside Receptions right on the river, so we found some great places to get shots. Thanks guys for being such great troopers!

Connie and Jason get Hitched

Hi Everyone!

Here is Connie and Jason's wedding. It took place at the beautiful Narnia Estate in Lemont. It's the first time I had been there for a wedding, and it's was great to work with everyone! Here are a few pictures from the day.

Of course, some details...

The beautiful Connie, who was extremely relaxed the entire day. She was having a great time the entire day.

And the groom Jason...

I love watching the expressions as the bride walks down the aisle.

But more importantly I LOVE watching the grooms face. It's so funny b/c in 27 dresses they say the same thing, and I was like THAT'S ME! So of course, here's the shot.

This was Jason's favorite shot.

If you'd like to see more, check out their slideshow HERE.

Alright, check back tomorrow for another post!

Ciao!

Little Sam

Hey Everyone!

Okay, I have been without internet for the last two days, and I never realized how much I'm on the net until I didn't have it! Plus, my iPhone has been on the fritz. I don't know about any other iPhone users out there, but mine has decided that it's not going to save my voicemails, or it's going to "PUSH" them through when it wants to. The email feature I think was on vacation this week. So I've been feeling very out of touch these days. I swore to myself I was never going to be that girl who had a cell phone attached to her at all times, but not being in the studio all the time it's nice to have access to mostly everything. Now I'm spoiled!

Well, this past week I had a wonderful session with Sam. He is so adorable. I just wanted to pinch his cheeks. He was teething pretty bad that day, but you wouldn't have even known with how darn cute this little guy was. Here are some of my favorite pics of the day!

There is something about a baby sleeping. Check out his slideshow below!

Lost but not forgotten

Hi Everyone,

Well, tonights post is a sad post for me. Two weeks ago to the day, while we were on vacation, my sister received a phone call that her childhood friend Melissa Lech that she has known since 6th grade died from a hit and run. Some of you in the Chicago area may have seen it on the news, but if you haven't, HERE is a clip from one of the past news casts.

HERE
is also an article.

Because there is a 13 year gap between my sister Alexis and I, sometimes I feel like she is my own kid. So I have watched her and her friends all grow up together. They both were attending the University of Illinois in Champaign, and this would have been their Junior year there. Alexis and Melissa were the best of friends all through grade school and most part of high school. So most of what I remember of Melissa is when they were definitely younger, and she was a crazy and loveable girl all at the same time. I remember I would get home from work and I would tease her to take it down a notch because she always had so much energy, no matter what time of day it was. She also weighed about 95 pounds, but you would never know it b/c she would out eat anyone at the table, including my brother! If I knew she was coming over, we would just double the food amount. She loved my mom's homemade pasta sauce. My fondest memories of them all together was helping them get ready to try out for cheerleading and trying to teach them all back walk overs and body rolls in my mom's living room.

Here are some cheerleading shots of Melissa and my sister Alexis. Alexis is on the left, Melissa is on the right.

Here's another one

This picture was actually taken at my wedding. I had to have my girls there!
This is the group of gals Alexis has hung out with since 6th grade:

Alexis, Melissa, Megan, and Heather

This picture describes Melissa perfectly, she's such a nut!

This picture is a more recent picture of Melissa and Alexis, taken when they first
started U of I.

It has taken me a while to even blog about this b/c I can't seem to wrap my head around what has happened to this young girl who had such a bright future ahead of her, and also to her family and friends who will miss her dearly. And I don't know what's worse, losing your child, or losing her and not knowing what happened. My heart goes out to her family, b/c I can't imagine what they're going through right now.

So I am asking that everyone please keep Melissa's family in their prayers.

There is an ongoing investigation, but so far not much has turned up. Her mom and family are asking anyone with information to please come forward. The Joliet Police Department is offering a $5000 reward, and her mom has added $15,000 to anyone with
information leading to an arrest. Please if anyone knows anything, you're asked to contact the Joliet Police Dept or Crime Stoppers.

Sorry about the Debbie Downer post, I just felt this is a great opportunity to reach as many people as possible so that hopefully someone does come forward with information. And I think it has really helped me say goodbye. So thanks for listening.

Christine and Jerry

Hi Everyone,

This blog post is way overdue. This is Christine and Jerry. I shot they're engagement session early last summer, and have been waiting for their wedding ever since. They are such great people and so easy to work with. Of course, it was raining out, just in time for photos! Arggg! But we mustered through it by hiding under big trees and jumping out in-between showers. They were such troopers.

So here are a few detail shots

Here is the lovely bride

And we can't forget the groom!

I love this shot, you can just feel how happy these two are!

Here is the notorious "real quick everyone gather before it starts pouring" shot of the bridal party

So we found this new spot...it was awesome. Here are some shots.

Check out later tonight for another post.

Kelsey and Jim's E-session

Hi everyone!

I am officially back from vacation, and we had a great time. We spent the week up right on Lake Michigan. James' mom has a condo right outside of St Josephs so we were able to go to the beach and the condo has a heated pool and a small beach of it's own. It was great to get away. Our friends Tania and Jeremy and their son Tyler came up as well, so Kailee had someone to play with. My sister Alexis also joined us for a few days..more on that later.

So since I was gone I have a lot to catch up on, but wanted to get this post of an e-session I did in Chicago with Jim and Kelsey. We started on Jim's parents boat, and walked around Northerly Island for some great shots of them. There was a Styx or Survivor concert going on, so they had a section of the area closed off. Luckily a Chicago Police officer went to bat for us with the security that was there, and they let us by. We got some great shots in the "forbidden" area.

Thanks for hanging out with me guys, and sorry to hold up dinner Jim!
